We recently had the pleasure of shooting a wedding for a lovely couple, who after many years together and 2 children later, planned a wedding of their dreams. The venue was The Wood Norton Hall, a Grade II listed Victorian stately home near Evesham. A fantastic venue, once used by the BBC during World War II, then as technical training accommodation.
Lucille found us through my brother in law, and liked our reportage approach to photography, so we made sure we kept to this style of photography throughout the day.
We met up with Lucille just a few weeks before the big day, at The Wood Norton, and looked around the venue together. This helped us spot good locations and work out how we would tackle the ceremony, in terms of making use of both photographers, without being too intrusive during that intimate part of the day.
Both Lucille and Joel got ready at the venue, this allowed us to document both of them getting ready, meeting the best men, ushers, bridesmades and flower girls.
The ceremony took place in a fantastic room, with wooden panels. Tricky in terms of lighting due to areas of bright light then dark shadows, however this really suits black and white photography.
We really enjoyed shooting this wedding, Lucille and Joe made us feel so comfortable, and their guests were a good bunch, funny and friendly, making us feel like guests. This definitely helps and makes for a more real wedding photography coverage.
Thank you Lucille and Joel for choosing Barry and Lou Photography. We are glad you liked how we documented your big.
