We recently shot a fantastic wedding for Kate and Alec, at the unique Hilltop Country House, Prestbury, Cheshire. We met Kate and Alec, a fair few years ago now, as they are good friends of my brother and sister in-law. We’ve photographed 2 weddings where Kate and Alec were guests, and that didn’t seem to put them off
Kate and Alec, hired us as they wanted un-intrusive reportage photography and from feedback we seem to have delivered exactly what they wanted.
I met up with Alec at a nearby pub, as the lads where watching the Lions play Australia. It didn’t seem to take Alec’s mind off the big day ahead, as he seemed to be checking his watch every 5 minutes. However it could have been the rugby, as the Lions seemed to be clinging on their lead at this point.
Kate was getting ready at Hilltop with her bridesmaids, Mum, Sister in-law and Niece. Kate seemed relaxed, she’d put a lot of effort into the fine details of the day and it’s nice to see brides sit back and let the day unfold.
The ceremony took place outside and just as Kate walked down to the bottom of the garden the sun broke through. Hilltop makes for such a lovely venue, the owners are fantastic as are the catering staff. I honestly think they were the most friendly staff at any wedding we’ve shot, and as we always say, it’s people that make a wedding, brides, grooms, guests and staff.
We documented the whole day, up to the first dance however left a few songs after that, as the dance floor got busy so wanted to get some dancing shots.
It was a fun wedding to shoot, as their were plenty of familiar faces, Sam and Susie, Ruth and Ian and Rachel and Chris. Kate and Alec, made us feel so welcome and that helps a lot.
Thanks for letting us be part of your big day hope you had a fantastic honeymoon and hope to catch up with you soon.
