For this wedding I (Barry) shot the wedding on my own, as Louise was days away from giving birth to our 2nd daughter. Despite having a back up photographer on hand it’s safe to say, I was relieved that the baby didn’t make an unexpected arrival.
I was back in my home town of Chester to photograph the wedding of Mark and Polly.
I first headed over to Polly’s parents house to cover the bridal preparations. The house was full of hustle and bustle with Polly’s best friend and sisters (2 out of 3 sisters. Melanie was elsewhere, Like Louise, also focusing on not having her baby on Polly’s big day!).
The ceremony took place at Holy Ascension Church, in Upton. A fantastic church and a really laid back minister. You never know at churches how the minister feels about photography during the ceremony, luckily the minister at this wedding said I had free reign. We generally don’t move that much during a ceremony anyway, and we make use of quiet cameras (Fuji X series) during crucial ceremonial moments.
The wedding breakfast and reception took place at Inglewood Manor in Ledhsam, great atmosphere, happy guests and good food and drink. While there we met Chris Caroe a fantastic toastmaster, he really added to the day, I highly recommend getting in touch with him if your after a toastmaster.
As a wedding photographer you get a privileged insight into these special days, and despite shooting a good number of weddings now, they still give us a buzz and excitement and I think they always will. Looking forward to the next one in just a couple of weeks.
Congratulations Mark and Polly. Thanks again for choosing Barry & Lou Photography to photography your wedding day.
