Last month I shot a wedding that was a first for Barry & Lou Photography. It was the first wedding we covered in a cathedral and the first wedding within walking distance.
This wedding took place at Lichfield Cathedral, such a fantastic venue, EPIC would describe the building perfectly. I met Andy and Heather the week leading up to the wedding, at their home in nearby, it was great to meet them as we discussed requirements and a run of the morning. We prefer meeting couples before hand, as it makes the wedding much more comfortable and one less stress for the couple to worry about..
On the morning the I arrived at the venue with plenty of time, to look access lighting and meet the person marrying the lovely couple. Unfortunately the Verger wouldn’t allow any photos during the ceremony at all, this was a big disappointment, but luckily our cameras are almost silent, so I took a few sneeky shots when the eyes were off me. We always try and respect the wishes of those carrying out the ceremony, however I knew this would have been a disappointment to the couple and knew I wouldn’t cause any distraction.
I was only with the couple for the ceremony and an hour or so afterward, but really enjoyed the time with them, they seemed relaxed and I hope they enjoyed the rest of their special day after the ceremony.
